If you're trying hard to change your body or keep it in check - but feeling tired, bloated, foggy, and stuck - I swear your body isn’t betraying you. It’s doing what it’s intelligently designed to do, which is conserve energy and keep you alive. But thrive? Not so much.
What’s really going on —
Your body has likely dialed down your BMR (basal metabolic rate). That translates to less energy for digestion, hormones, and all the pathways that give you an extra spark, like your hair, skin and nails. Your light feels dimmer because your body literally can’t afford to keep everything running at full power.
The good news! —
Your metabolism is NOT permanently damaged (big sigh of relief). It’s just downregulated, so it makes sense if you feel like you’ve been running on fumes :/
Most people who need it most never learn about how to get out of the metabolic hole that wellness perfectionism digs us into. But what goes down can come back up. Because waking up your metabolism can feel so miraculous (trust me, I know firsthand), it’s my favorite thing to yap about.
